The week that went by was quite interesting in terms of what it had for the users looking to get maximum value for money. The Zenfone 2 got a new variant, Coolpad announced what its first smartphone for India could look like, the BlackBerry Leap got launched for Rs 21,490 and the Microsoft Lumia 540 hit our shores for Rs 10,199. ASUS Zenfone 2 variant with 4GB RAM and Z3560 SoC launched for Rs 18,999
The week saw a new variant of the Zenfone 2 (review)getting launched and adding to the long list of variants already on sale. This one comes with the model number ZE551 ML-6J226WW and has a 1.8GHz quad-core Intel Z3560 processor mated to 4GB of RAM. The slightly higher-end variant, the ZE551 ML- 6J333WW has a 2.3GHz quad-core processor mated to 4GB of RAM. The other specifications remain the same. The new variant gets a 5.5-inch full HD display, a 13MP rear camera, 5MP front camera, 32GB of internal storage (expandable by 128GB) and 4G LTE along with the usual set of connectivity options.
Coolpad’s bezel-less smartphone to be launched in India this year
Coolpad, the Chinese Oct, will starts its Indian operations this year. Dazen will be the brand of smartphones that it will launch in India. One of the smartphones it plans to launch this year will be a bezel-less device. The smartphone will have a high display-to-body ratio. The Chinese OEM has also stated that the users won’t be required to buy the cases for screen protection which sounds pretty interesting.
BlackBerry Leap launched for Rs 21,490
BlackBerry showcased the Leap for the Indian market last week and launched it this week for Rs 21,490. The Leap has a 5-inch HD display, runs BB OS v10.3.1, and is powered by a 1.5GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor mated to 2GB of RAM. There’s 16GB of internal storage present on board. The rear has an 8MP camera and the front gets a 2MP camera. A 2,800 mAh battery juices It up.
YU YUPHORIA launched for Rs 6,999 in India
YU launched its second smartphone named the YU Yuphoria this week in India. Priced at Rs 6,999, it comes with a 5-inch HD display, is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 410 processor mated to 2GB of RAM, has 16GB of expandable internal storage and boots Android 5.0 Lollipop based CM12S. It will have its first flash sale on May 28th in the country and the registrations for it have already begun.
Microsoft Lumia 540 launched for Rs 10,199
Microsoft launched the Lumia 540 in the country this week for Rs 10,199. It comes with a 5-inch HD display, 1.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 200 processor, 1GB RAM, 8GB internal storage expandable by 128GB, an 8MP rear camera with LED flash and a wide-angle 5MP front camera. There are the usual connectivity options present on it in addition to dual SIM support and a 2,200mAh battery juices it up.
